Today, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is celebrating its foundation day. The party was founded in 1980 and since then has seen many ups and downs, losses and wins. On the occasion of the 36th foundation day, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated all the party members for their dedication towards the nation.

In a series of tweets he said, “From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Kutch to Arunachal Pradesh, people have reposed faith in BJP & see BJP as a party to fulfil their dreams,”. In another tweet he said, “Guided by love for India & determined to take India to new heights of progress, generations of Karyakartas devoted their lives to the Party…. On #BJPFoundationDay, I salute crores of BJP Karyakartas who have always served the BJP with admirable vigour & great dedication. @BJP4India.”

He also appreciated the hard work of the karyakartas and congratulated BJP as a whole to serve the nation and its people in an exemplary way.

Apart from him, the president of the party, Amit Shah also expressed his view on the day. Taking proud in the party he said, “The party started by 11 people has become a family of 11 crore members. This has happened due to the sacrifices made by thousands of party workers,”

Talking about the contemporary party and history a little, he said, “After (Jawaharlal) Nehru became prime minister, his Western-oriented policies and decisions compelled nationalistic forces to pave the way for founding the Jana Sangh. If we had followed Nehru’s policies, we would have gone on the wrong path.”

How could have he not appreciated the Prime Minister efforts on this day. Acknowledging Narendra Modi, he further said, “No doubt, Narendra bhai is the world’s most popular leader. For the first time there is a government at the centre which is making policies and taking decisions by keeping the poor and deprived (in mind),”

Let us tell you that Amit Shah started and ended his speech on foundation day with the much debated slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

While the party celebrates its foundation day, the citizens hope that it fulfils the promises it made when it came to power.
