Popular TV actress and former Bigg Boss participator, Pratyusha Banerjee, who got famed as ‘Anandi’ in the celebrated drama series ‘Balika Vadhu’, was recently found dead at her residence in Mumbai. The actress was found hanging from the ceiling in her apartment. The friends and family claim that this is not a suicide but rather a murder. Grief and Sorrow has spread in her hometown after the news of her death went out.
According to the recent reports, Pratyusha’s boyfriend Rahul Raj was the first one to inform the police about her suicide. Rahul has been detained and is interrogated by the police. Apparently Rahul and Pratyusha were together the morning she died. Mumbai police said, “We are trying to identify the sequence of events”
Sources informed that Rahul Raj went to see her in the apartment on Friday where when he knocked nobody opened the door. He then called a locksmith and when entered found Pratyusha hanging for the ceiling and she was bleeding from her mouth. He rushed Pratyusha to the Kokilaben Hospital where she was declared dead. Also, police has investigated so far that the laundry man was the last person to eneter her apartment before Rahul found here hanging.
Rahul Raj said in his statement to police, “”We used to stay in a 2 bedroom flat. We had two keys; one key was with Pratyusha and the other was with me. When I entered the bedroom, I found Pratyusha hanging from the ceiling. I got very scared. Immediately, I called the neighbours and with their help, I took her to Kokilaben Hospital. We assumed that she was alive, but she was not. I got so scared that I did not inform the police. It was the hospital authorities who informed them. After the doctor’s declaration, I called up Pratyusha’s family members and few of our close friends.”
Close friends, TV artists and family believe that she cannot commit a suicide. Azaz Khan, former Bigg Boss contestant, said, “It is a planned murder”. Where on the other hand Dolly Bindra expressed her condolence and said that she was a very strong girl. Friends insist that the couple (Pratyusha and Rahul) fought a month ago and judge this to be a murder.
Experts from the industry say that she committed suicide probably because she was stressed out due to the ongoing pressure on the TV actors. Also, her soap opera ‘Balika Vadhu’ was going to shut down in a short while after a few more episodes. Her few close friends say that she informed them that she has not been offered any assignment since December 2015.
By the mean time her body is going through post-mortem, her boyfriend Rahul Raj is detained and is interrogated by the police. While everyone wonder why the talented actress suddenly committed suicide, her fans, family and friends really hope that police shall solve this mystery at the earliest.
