With the change in climate in the state, the seasonal diseases are trying to affect as many as people in the entire state. But, the state Government is all geared up and providing a better surveillance, monitoring and preventive measures for the people of Rajasthan. Diseases like malaria, dengue, Scrub Typhus and swine flu are taking people into its grip. The state health department has been proactive in handling these seasonal diseases and thus took some major actions to fight the spread of diseases. Due to this, the Health Department have formed ‘rapid response team’ to limit the infections and therefore, no death has so far been reported due to ‘chikungunya’ according to the medical and health department. The formation of the rapid response team was outlined at the meeting held by the Health Minister Rajendra Rathore with the CMHOs and the district Ayurveda department officials at the Swasth Bhawan on Thursday.

Where on one hand, opposition has been trying to target Government for no action for the prevention of seasonal diseases, the state health department has been dedicatedly working to prevent its spread and provide treatment to the affected on the other hand. The officials were directed by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to ensure proper supply of medicines for the patients along with asking the officials to make a timely tour to the hospitals for ensuring that the doctors and medical staff were present in the hospitals on time. During the last regime of Congress, 100 cases of malaria deaths were reported with 23 dengue deaths. Also, due to lack of efficient health services, a total of 2106 chikungunya cases have also been reported.

But this government has been working hard to limit these infections and thus out of 693 cases of Chikungunya, no deaths has been reported so far, according to the health minister Rajendra Rathore. The rapid response teams formed by the state authorities are headed towards the remote areas where such infections are spreading to provide medical treatment to patients.
