Anyone who wants to witness the grandeur of Rio de Janerio but didn’t get the tickets? Or are you a sport fanatic but can’t afford to be there to witness all the live action? If yes then we would trouble you with just one more question. It’s not from us but it is something that Samsung Electronics wants to ask all the Rio Olympic fans that- “Who all want to experience the opening ceremony of Rio Olympics 2016 from their own favorite couch?  We bet there are many of us who fall under this category, and for all of us there is one good news. Samsung Electronics is planning to transport you to Rio de Janerio with its virtual reality headset. With the help of that all the fans can live the Rio action just by sitting on couches they are most comfortable in and it would feel nothing less than sitting in the stadium where all the action will take place.

The Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro where the ceremony will be held has a total number of 78,000 seats. For obvious reasons it will be jam-packed with all the lucky fans that got their way in acquiring a seat to watch it all. But when Samsung Electronics is here, you don’t have to care (much). Because the virtual reality headsets have been prepared to broadcast Olympic action at your home, and it will be a tech treat for all the fans.

To make this possible, Samsung has partnered with Comcast’s NBC Universal and the Olympic Broadcasting Services. This deal in between them will allow the Samsung VR sets to display opening and closing ceremonies with basketball, diving, field, track and gymnastics.

Virtual reality is supported by many including Facebook chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg. According to him it is the future of technology world. It is being anticipated that VR will change everything from gaming, to communication, to sports and how people work.

Some experts say that Brazil is the perfect testing ground. The Olympics have historically been a showcase for new technologies.”

Dan Baker, the analyst from Morningstar says, “It makes sense for Samsung to get as much early experience with the technology as possible so that it can try to take the lead. Being ahead on the technology curve allows for better returns and profitability.”

But to make this brilliant idea a success, would be like a difficult job for Samsung to do.
