Not only these, there are many other traits and things about Rajasthan which make it a favored tourist destination all over the world.
Other than the architecture of various forts and palaces, the Rajasthanis are also famous for their craftsmanship of traditional and antique jewelry. As India has always been known as a “Golden Bird”, the love of jewelry of Indian women is entirely unmatched. All the special occasions and festivals of India are incomplete without necklaces, earrings and rings of Indian women wore them in myriad ways.
The royal Rajasthan never misses a chance to exhibit the exquisite jewelry of Rajasthan on different national and international platforms. The appreciation of the world industry leaders of gemstones and jewelry has always inspired the jewelers of the state to grow and work beyond the boundaries to make a distinct international identity of Rajasthani jewelry. In this direction, an initiative has been taken by the Jewelers Association, Jaipur by organizing “Jewelers Association Show” since 2006. JAS could be simplified as India’s top-of-the-line gemstone and jewelry shows focusing on exhibiting the unparalleled range of colored gemstones and finest jewelry collections by participants from the state and all over the country’s leading manufacturers. It promotes the highest standards in design, craftsmanship, and finish from all regions of India inculcating various business growth opportunities.
The exhibitors come from all over the country to have a booth in the show and explore the progress probability. With the passion, talent, and work of jewelers, the show has become the perfect place for all the new and old jewelry manufacturers to come and exhibit their collection to the larger national and international audience.
This is the 10th show in a row of JAS organized at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre in Jaipur, India. It is a 4-day event commencing from August 20th to August 23rd, 2016. It showcases products from everyone like manufacturers, retailers, designers, artisans, wholesalers, and buyers who create a unique business environment.
The show is inaugurated today by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje. She seemed really excited and happy while inaugurating the event and shares her thoughts with the audience present there. Following are some instances of her inaugural speech:

Raje portrayed the image of Rajasthan being a colorful state and how its unique and detailed craftsmanship is are the major embellishments that make the jewelry of this state unique. She appreciated Jaipur jewelers for their meticulous and intricate workmanship that earned the artisans of Rajasthan laurels from all corners of the world.

The jewelry manufacturing business of Rajasthan is almost three centuries old and Jaipur is the world’s largest center for cutting and polishing of colored gemstones and in fact, accounts for 90% of the global processing of Emeralds. The figures say that Rajasthan alone exports Rs.1,000 Crores worth of these valuable items and thus is a significant player in this sector.
The export of gems and jewelry contributes to 15% of India’s exports. It is for the industry to devise a security net for the artisans.

CM Raje shares her views that jewelry business in Rajasthan has ample job opportunities and urged the state’s jewelry designers to craft designs according to the modern need of the hour.
Raje has urged the jewelers of Rajasthan to promote the show to an extent that people from all over the world look forward to the show and also the youth of the nation gets attracted towards this ancestral heritage of Rajasthan.
The tourist of the state should get jewelry at reasonable prices so that they could advertise it in their own country. It is the best way of mouth publicity.
On the demand of Jewelers, Smt. Raje promised to work in the direction of starting a direct Jaipur to Bangkok direct flight for the convenience of Jaipur jewelers.
In the last, she congratulated the Jewelers Association for organizing this event on such a grand scale and wished them to make it a much grander event in future.
