Virat Kohli now captain in all formats, Yuvraj, Ashish back in India ODI cricket team

The New Year has ushered in an ultra speculative topic entailing the nomination of the new Captain of the India cricket team. But finally, the speculation has been terminated as Virat Kohli has been announced as the interim captain of Indian Cricket, in all formats.

A meeting named as MSK Prasad committee was conducted. The meeting was chaired by the  BCCI CEO Rahul Johri. Earlier the meeting was slated to commence at 12:30 pm, however, it got delayed over and again. The major reason for delay was cited as logistical issues.

The team selectors furnished the following team members as their final selection, categorically for the India-England series.

India A team for 2nd warm-up tie: R Pant, A Rahane (capt), Raina, Hooda, Kishan, S Jackson, V Shankar, Nadeem, Rasool, V Kumar, Sangwan, Dinda.

India A team for 1st warm-up tie: Shikhar, Mandeep, Rayudu, Yuvraj, Dhoni (capt), Pandya, Samson, Kuldeep, Chahal, Nehra, Mohit Sharma, S Kaul

Suresh Raina along with Rishabh Pant has been brought in only for the T20 series.

Team for 3 T20Is: Virat (Capt), MS Dhoni (wk), Mandeep, Rahul, Yuvraj, Raina, Rishabh, Pandya, Ashwin,Jadeja,Chahal,Manish, Bumrah, Bhuvi, Nehra

Team for 3 ODIs: Virat (C), MS Dhoni (wk), Rahul, Shikhar, Manish, Kedar, Yuvraj, Ajinkya, Pandya, Ashwin, Jadeja, Mishra, Bumrah, Bhuvi, Umesh

As anticipated, Virat Kohli has been declared as India’s limited overs captain. Kohli’s will be first match in-charge for the first ODI against England in Pune on January 15.

 

Interestingly, Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra have made a much-awaited comeback into the Indian team to play for the India-England match series. Well, lady-luck might have got some good fortune into the kitty of this handsome cricketer.

The Chief selector MSK Prasad claimed that the reason behind roping in Yuvraj Singh is owing to his commendable performance in the domestic game.

Recently, Rahul Johri was appointed interim manager by the Supreme Court to handle BCCI affairs after Anurag Thakur was ousted from the organisation.

Virat took to twitter, reflecting his affection for the Cool Ex-captain.

The aggressive hunk that he is, Kohli has demonstrated extraordinary potential time and again. He also engendered India to bag the recent Test series trophy.

Kohli was confirmed as the captian after Mahendra Singh Dhoni resigned as captain on Wednesday.
