FIR Filed Against Aamir Khan

After the wide criticism over ‘intolerance’ actor Amir Khan and his Wife Kiran Rao, receive another setback when a FIR was filed against the couple in Bihar on Friday by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha. The FIR was registered at Muzaffarpur district under IPC section 153, 153A, 153B and 154.

The FIR was launched on directions of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Muzaffarpur District, Sushma Trivedi on petitioners complaint filed for hurting religious sentiments of Indian residents, by claiming that an atmosphere of ‘intolerance’ prevails across the country.

Amir Khan, during a function in a university in Delhi recently, addressed the students and others attending the event. The actor courted controversy by publicly saying that Kiran Rao was considering whether to move out of the country with their child due to the prevalence of an atmosphere of “intolerance.”

However, Amir Khan personally never supported his wife over this statement, which he clarified in a open letter shared on social media which reads that “neither me nor my wife wished to leave India, I am a Indian by birth will always be a Indian.”

In past couple of month notably after Dadri lynching case, debate on intolerance emerged on various social and political grounds. A majority of people which includes writers and filmmakers have returned their awards. These incidences had intensified the debate.

Although Dadri case was not the only reason of ‘intolerance’ debates and was also backed by number of other unfortunate incidences.
