Amidst high energy, excitement and speculations, CM Vasundhara Raje presented Rajasthan budget 2017 on Women’s day today. As expected, the budget entails several perks for women. If you’re a woman/girl residing in Rajasthan, here are 10 reasons why you should be happy about the budget.
1. All Aanganwadi workers will get a salary hike up to Rs 500 per month, based on their performance at work.
2. Meritorious student who score over 90% in state board examinations will get a brand new scooty. This will encourage them to work hard in exams.
3. CM Raje has doubled the incentives falling under “Sahyog evam Upkar Yojana”. Now, the daughters of single mothers (widows), BPL families, Astha-card holders and economically weaker sections of the society will get monetary help for marriage. Rs 10,000 will be given to girls when they pass Class X. Rs 20,000 will be given to graduate girls.
4. Widow Pension Scheme Perks: Widows over 60 years and 75 years of age will receive Rs 1,000/month and Rs 1,500/month respectively. This latest development will be implemented from 1st July 2017.
5. 233 hostels in Rajasthan are situated at a distance of 2 kilometres from the educational institutes. Girl students residing in such institutes will get a brand new cycle for swift commuting. It’ll help them arrive on time.

6. Karauli, Jalore, Chittorgarh, Tonk, Baran, Bhilwada, Bikaner, Rajsamand, Jhunjhunu, Pali, Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Pratapgarh, Hanumangarh and Dhaulpur will get new One stop crises management centre ‘Aparajita’ to help distressed women in need.
7. A new scheme “Chirali Yojana” will be implemented soon, with the involvement of community action groups. It’ll aim at generating awareness and controlling homicides, female foeticide and crimes against women.
8. Government will start defence training at schools for women security. 3 lakh 60 thousand girls in Rajasthan will participate in this training.
9. Specially-abled couples will get Rs 50,000 for supporting their domestic life.

10. Rajshree Yojana (a women-centric scheme that empowers daughters and their mothers with financial support) will be linked to Bhamashah scheme for direct delivery of benefits to women.
